- New Event: Inaugural Sandy Creek Wrestling Golf Tournament
- Update: The State Fair Challenge will be held on Sunday, August 24th. Greco-Roman competition is slated to begin at 10:00am with Freestyle to follow at 02:15pm. Joining the Mohawk Valley Wrestling Club will be Shamrock, Genesee Valley, and TNT. The Maritime Wrestling Club out of New Brunswick, Canada will be making a special appearance.

- Coaching Position: Greenville Central School (Sec 2) located 20 minutes south of Albany is looking for a Varsity and Modified coach for the coming season. This is a 2nd year varsity program with 14 varsity wrestlers returning and 9 freshman moving up from modified. One coach can take both positions (as was the case last year) or either position. You will have a PT unpaid assistant who will help with Modified and Varsity. The administration would prefer a teacher but will accept applications from non-teachers as well. To see a list of open teaching positions refer to the state website (olasjobs.org). This is a great opportunity for a new young coach to work with a motivated group of wrestlers. The future is bright as the youth club had 80 members this past year and of the 14 returning on varsity only 2 will be seniors. - New Tournament: 8th Annual Gene Mills Eastern Nationals
- New Tournament: Phoenix Youth Wrestling Tournament
- Correction: Due to scheduling problems, the Empire State Games practices will be from 5:30 - 7:00 at Fowler High School. July practices dates are on the 10th, 15th, 17th, and 22nd.
- New Event: 2009 NYS Fair Wrestling Challenge is tentatively set for August 23-24 at the NYS Fair. More details will follow as they become available.
- OPENING: Due to a recent cancellation, there is an opening in the 1000 Islands Summer Duals. To fill out the 48 team field, there is a need for one more team. If interested, contact Pat Conners at (315) 232-4993 or patrickcny@aol.com.

- Opening: Williamson (Section V) is looking for teams for their dual meet tournament on February 7, 2009. It is a round-robin tournament with every effort made to get 5 matches per wrestler. Teams already commited are Williamson, Red Creek, Red Jacket, and Marion. If interested, contact:
